Perfectionism stamp

Description

This stamp needs some explanation:

I'm sick and tired of artists, who say they don't draw "pretty" characters, because they're against perfectionism.
Pretty is defined by characters who look "normal" or "neutral", are thin with curves or in some other way are looking nice, pretty, beautiful etc. (not meant as only beauty queens and kings, hope you get what I mean)

For some reason, a lot of artists are against this "perfectionism" because they think it represents your opinion. They don't want to draw "pretty" characters because that will mean you're into perfectionism and to do that is just stupid and superficial.

What the fucking hell is wrong with those persons?

When did it become official that whatever you're drawing represents your opinion? I feel like I'm going to puke when those kind of persons begins to speak out loud, it's like they made a new rule between artists. They think what you're drawing represents what you like, dislike etc. but it doesn't. If the artist says that this represents his/her opinion then you can begin to discuss but you don't criticise other artists because they draw "pretty" characters.

Just because artists draw "pretty" characters it doesn't mean they think the world is going to be filled with perfect people without any flaws. Once I was directly attacked by a person who called me a perfectionist because my characters where drawn like I draw them, and that I was a bad role model for young girls. What the hell went wrong? I support those people who in some way are different no matter if it's about their look, sexuality etc. And just because I draw "pretty" characters, people think they have the right to criticise me for that.

I don't get it. I simply just don't. It's like when other people think an artist is homophobic because one or most of the artist's characters are straight. Peoples art and characters don't necessarily express their opinion about the world.

I get sick of seeing all this talking about you shouldn't draw "pretty" characters because it represents the worlds modern ideal (thin, skinny persons) and perfectionism. God damn, it doesn't. If it does, the artist usually says it but otherwise, no! Don't you get it? Artists and their work is not an ideal for other people, is it that hard to understand? If they say they want to be ideals, then it's fine but it's like when parents blame celebrities because their children want to smoke if their idol smokes. Celebrities didn't ask for being a role model, okay? Neither do artists so stop with your "it's not a good example for children when your characters look like that".

Nobody is going to decide what artists must draw. And they're not going to decide that everything artists draw, is automatically a way to show their opinion. It's wrong to categorize people as bad persons based on what they draw.

Artists can create whatever the hell they want and no one is going to change that.´

PS: This doesn't mean I don't like ugly characters and whatnot, I really do, I'm just tired you're unable to draw anything else than that without getting attacked by people who don't understand to mind their own business and let artists draw what they want to.

Sorry for mistakes and stuff, I'm not that good with English yet
